The Fundamental Analyzer *

Das wohl interessanteste Feature der neuen Version ist der nur in der MetaStock Pro Version für das QuoteCenter enthaltene Fundamental Analyzer, der die vollständige Analyse der fundamentalen Kennzahlen eines Unternehmens erlaubt.

Die technische Analyse kann als ein sehr wichtiges Hilfsmittel angesehen werden, um Entscheidungen für den Handel zu finden. Gerade für eher langfristig orientierte Anleger ist es aber eminent wichtig, dass auch die fundamentalen Daten für eine Anlageentscheidung mit herangezogen werden können.

Mit dem MetaStock Fundamental Analyzer können mit nur wenigen Mausklicks praktisch alle nur vorstellbaren fundamentalen Informationen von Unternehmen aus den USA und Weltweit angezeigt und analysiert werden.

Ein großartiges Feature ist die Möglichkeit, Unternehmen nach einer großen Zahl an fundamentalen Datenfeldern zu scannen bzw. zu filtern. Zu den fundamentalen Kriterien zählen unter anderem der geringste Preis, der höchste Preis, das geringste durchschnittliche Volumen, die geringsten EPS, das minimale PE Ratio, die minimale Dividende und das minimale Beta.

Die Ergebnisse können sortiert werden nach Schlusskurs, durchschnittlichem Volumen, EPS, jährliche Dividende, PE Ratio, Beta, Name des Unternehmens, Industriegruppe und Industriesektor.

Zudem besteht die Möglichkeit, eine in MetaStock aus dem Explorer heraus erzeugte Liste in dem Fundamental Analyzer zu scannen bzw. umgekehrt. Dies ist eine sehr gute Möglichkeit, die fundamentale und die technische Analyse miteinander zu kombinieren und zu profitieren.


43 neue adaptive Indikatoren

Indikatoren benutzen in der Regel zur Berechnung eine konstante Berechnungslänge oder Gewichtung. Durch die starre Berechnungsgrundlage können diese Indikatoren nicht oder nur bedingt auf sich ändernde Marktbedingungen reagieren, sondern reagieren in allen Markphasen – z.B. ruhig oder hektisch – mit derselben Trägheit oder Dynamik.

Eine Möglichkeit, diese Problematik zu lösen, besteht in der Verwendung adaptiver Indikatoren (siehe hierzu z.B. in dem Buch „Trading Systems and Methods“ von P. Kaufmann). Adaptive Indikatoren arbeiten nicht mit einer konstanten Berechnungslänge bzw. Gewichtung, sondern passen die Berechnungsgrundlage dynamisch an die sich ändernden Marktphasen anzupassen. In der Theorie existieren hierzu eine Reihe von unterschiedlichen Berechnungsansätzen, z.B. die Berücksichtigung der Volatilität als Basis der Berechnungsgrundlage.

Die Entwickler von MetaStock haben sich für die Berechnungsansätze unter der Berücksichtigung der Volatilität, der Berücksichtigung der Marktphase und einer Kombination aus Volatilität und Marktzyklen entschieden, da diese Ansätze die besten Ergebnisse versprechen.

Bei der Methode unter Berücksichtigung der Volatilität ist die Berechnungslänge umso kürzer, je höher die ermittelte Volatilität ist. Bei der Methode der Marktzyklen benutzt zur Ermittlung der Berechnungslänge die durchschnittliche Anzahl der Bars zwischen Peak und Trough Punkten.

Stochastic Pops – Kombiniert einen Stochastik Indikator auf wöchentlicher Datenbasis zur Trendermittlung und einen Stochastik Indikator auf täglicher Datenbasis zur Signalermittlung. Hierdurch soll verhindert werden, dass kurzfristige Schwankungen einen zu großen Einfluss auf die Handelsentscheidungen haben. Zudem werden bei der Signalermittlung noch das Volumen und der DMI berücksichtigt.

Conners RSI – Ein zwei Perioden RSI mit extremen Hochs oder Tiefs wird als Trigger sowohl für den Long als auch den Short Einstieg genutzt. Der Exit basiert auf den Intellistop Indikatoren.

Darvas Box – Das System basiert auf den Formeln und Ideen, die Daryl Guppy im Mai 2005 in einer Ausgabe des „Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities magazine“ vorgestellt hat. Daryl’s Formeln dienen als Signalbasis, zusätzlich werden die Volatilität und das Volumen zur Bestätigung der Signale berücksichtigt.

Turtle Trader – Ein sehr bekanntes System, dass Long-Kaufsignale auslöst, wenn sich der Kurs oberhalb des höchsten Hochs der letzten 20 Handelstage bewegt. Short-Handelssignale werden erzeugt, wenn sich der Kurs unterhalb des tiefsten Tiefs der letzten 20 20 Handelstage bewegt. Positionen werden geschlossen, die Kurse einen neuen Extrempunkt für die letzten 10 Handelstage bilden.

SPYDER Carpe Diem – Wird benutzt, um die Bewegung eines einzigen Handelstages im S&P 500 zu bewerten und benutzt ein vier Bar-System. Für eine Long Position: weiß, weiß, schwarz, weiß und für eine Short Position: schwarz, schwarz, weiß, schwarz.

1st Hour Breakout – Das System untersucht die erste Handelsstunde eines Handelstages und basiert auf der Annahme, dass während dieser Phase die grundlegende Handelstendenz für diesen Tag gelegt wird. Das System schließt alle Positionen am Ende eines Handelstages (nur in MetaStock Professional).

Hallo Slame,

ein deutsches Handbuch für die aktuelle MetaStock-Version gibt es leider nicht.

Bei uns bekommen alle Kunden die Originalsoftware und neben dem Handbuch auch eine nur 67 Seiten umfassende "Getting Started" Einführung, in dem die wichtigsten Funktionen von MetaStock beschrieben werden.

Vielleicht fragen Sie einfach mal beim Händler nach, von dem Sie die Testversion bekommen haben.

Oder Sie bestellen bei uns (zum gleichen Preis) und erhalten nicht nur die Software mit allen Handbüchern, sondern auch Hilfe und Support nach dem Kauf ;-)

in MetaStock ist ganz gewiss kein Bug bei der Darstellung von GDs. Das ist ein Anwenderfehler (falsche Skalierung). Weitere Infos finden Sie im Forum oder im Handbuch oder beim Händler, bei dem Sie die Software gekauft haben.

Hallo TimeTrade,

bei MetaStock gibt es bisher nur diese Variante, keinen Dongle. MetaStock darf auf zwei Rechnern installiert werden - für den Großteil der Anwender ist das wohl auch ausreichend.

Innerhalb weniger Tage ist auch beim MetaStock-Hersteller Equis "Ersatz" lieferbar - kostenfrei und unbürokratisch - sollte mal etwas schiefgehen.

Frage an die Redaktion:

Es gibt doch eine MS-Datenbank-Schnittstelle für Third-Party-Software-Entwickler. Ist es möglich, dafür eine Dokumentation zu bekommen?

Ich habe bei MS schon einmal gelesen, daß man dafür als Entwickler alles preisgeben muss, was man da vor hat. Und das möchte ich im momentanten Entwicklungsstadium nicht. Wenn es insofern nicht geht, geht's eben nicht. Ich würde mich aber freuen, wenn eine Doku problemlos erhältlich wäre.

Ich bin derzeit auf der Suche nach einem verlässlichen End of Day Datenanbieter und habe hierzu ein paar Fragen an Sie.

Ich nutze zweierlei Softwarepakete zum einen Metastock und zum anderen die Tradestation. Kann man mit dem Reuters Datalink beide Analyseprogramme mit Daten versorgen bzw. kann ich mit beiden Programmen auf die Daten zugreifen?

Und benötigt man evtl. Tool zur Weiterverarbeitung?

Metatrader hat am Wochenende mal probiert, konnte die Fehlermeldung aber nicht erzeugen.

Im Downloader gibt es sehr wenig Möglichkeiten, etwas einzustellen. Benutzer/Passwort scheint okay zu sein, sonst könnten Sie sich nicht einloggen. Das einzige, was ihm noch einfällt, ist der Port. Hier muss bei den erweiterten Optionen unter Vendor Option 7983 eingetragen werden.

Sollte das nicht helfen, melden Sie sich bitte nochmal.

Für die Datenversorgung möchte ich mein Abo bei eSignal verwenden. Das ist allerdings ein Tick-Daten-Abo. Ist ein Laden der EOD-Daten inkl. Historien dennoch einfach möglich ?

Ich bin sehr viel auf Reisen und benötige die Software auch auf meinem Notebook. Kann man MetaStock mehrfach installieren, wobei selbstverstänlich niemals eine gleichzeitige Nutzung auf beiden Geräten stattfindet ?

der Lizenzvereinbarung muss vor der Installation von MetaStock zugestimmt werden, ansonsten wird die Installation abgebrochen. Die Lizenzvereinbarung ist als Textdatei auf der Original-CD enthalten.

Den Lizenzschlüssel für die Aktivierung der Vollversion (spätestens 14 Tage nach Installation) und Support erhalten Sie bei dem Händler, bei dem Sie die Software gekauft haben.

October 1, 2007 European Reuters DataLink Data Symbol Changes: ACTION REQUIRED

On October 1, 2007, the symbols for approximately 4,000 European securities will change. This is to ensure that Reuters data is compliant with the MiFID (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive) legislation deadline of November 1, 2007. Click here to learn more about MiFID:

If you have saved charts and layouts that you’ve decided should be updated, please go through the “Fixing Your Saved Layouts or Charts” steps prior to running the local data file utility. Once the local data file utility has been run, all layouts or charts with the affected RICs can only be manually recreated.

WARNING: running the local data file utility prior to Oct 1, 2007 will prevent you from being able to collect data on the affected symbols until the data feed change goes into effect on Oct 1st. Therefore you should NOT apply the update until you’ve finished collecting data prior to October 1st.
Instructions for Fixing Your Local Data Files:

To update your local data files you will need to download and run the Reuters DataLink Local Data Utility. This Utility will search through your local data files for instances of the impacted symbols and update them accordingly. Note: If you are not using MetaStock local data files, you can disregard this step and proceed with step 2.

STEP 1: Running the Local Data Utility

1. Download the Local Data Utility. Click HERE to download the utility:

When the File Download dialog appears, click “Save” and save the file to your Windows Desktop.
After the download has completed, locate the saved file and double-click it to run the self extractor.
Specify the folder to extract into and extract the files.

2. DO NOT RUN the utility until you’ve completed collecting local data on September 30th, but DO RUN the utility prior to collecting your data for the first time on or after October 1st. When run, the Local Data Utility will search through your local data files for instances of the impacted symbols and update them accordingly.

Locate the folder specified in step 1c.
Double-click “Symbol Changer.exe” file to run the utility.
Specify the location of your MetaStock local data files.
Click Change Symbols.
When the utility has completed click Close.

STEP 2: Updating Your Symbol Database

For MetaStock and DownLoader versions 10.x

** DO NOT update your symbol database before October 1st. DO update your symbol database BEFORE you collect data or open a chart on or after October 1st.**

Open MetaStock
Click Tools, then select Update Symbol Database
Restart MetaStock
You should now be set to start collecting data as normal on October 1st.

For MetaStock and DownLoader versions prior to 10.x

Updated European symbol files will be available for download on October 2nd from our Support Symbol Files site. To access this site click here:

Instructions for Fixing Your Saved Layouts, Charts or Favorites:

Due to the nature of the symbol being the key attribute of a data file, any existing links to an affected symbol will be broken when the symbol changes. The following areas may be affected:

Existing Layouts
Existing Charts
Data on Demand Smart Charts
Favorites

The local data file utility will not be able to change the symbols associated with the above files, therefore they will continue to reference the old symbol and must be recreated against the new symbols. There are two options available for the user:

Option 1:

After the symbols have been updated manually recreate your layouts, charts, and Smart Charts.

Option 2:

Use MetaStock’s Template functionality to assist the creation process with the following steps:

1. Prior to running the local data file utility, open the affected layout, chart, or Smart Chart:

Click: File|Save As
Change the “Save As Type” field to “template”
Enter a name for the template
Click Save.
Repeat this for all of your affected layouts, favorites, charts, and smartcharts.

2. After all of the desired templates are saved run the data file utility to update your data with the new symbols

3. Open a chart with the new symbol and apply the saved template that correlates to that particular symbol.

4. Save the new layout, chart, or Smart Chart.

Instructions for Updating Your Existing System Test and Exploration Security Lists:

Open the applicable system test or exploration.
Run through the system test or exploration as you normally would until you get to the “Add Securities” dialog.
In the “Add Securities” dialog, remove the reference to the old symbol.
Add in the updated symbol.
Continue through the normal steps of the system test or exploration.

FAQs:

· What if I choose not to update my software?

If you choose to not update your software, beginning October 1, 2007 you will be unable to collect data on these securities until the updates are made. Messages will be sent through your Reuters DataLink account alerting you of the symbol changes. These messages will be sent for up to 90 days or until you’ve updated the symbol.

· What if I’m unable to run the utility on October 1, 2007?

If you cannot run the utility before you collect data on October 1st (or thereafter), you will get a message saying “no data received” because the old symbol will no longer get data. To fix the problem, just run through the steps above and your symbols will be updated.

· What if I continue using my existing layouts or charts?

If you continue to use your existing layouts or charts, beginning October 1, 2007, they will not be able to collect data beyond September 30, 2007. You will need to recreate them using the new symbols.

Systemkongress 2007 am 24. März in Frankfurt

Am 24. März findet in Frankfurt/Main der Systemkongress 2007 – eine Fachveranstaltung für Handelssystementwicklung und systematisches Trading statt. Dabei handelt es sich um ein in dieser Form bislang einmaliges Event in Deutschland.

On Saturday, January 27, 2007 there will be a planned Reuters DataLink outage from 9:00am to 9:00pm eastern time. The purpose of this outage is to test all of our emergency back-up systems.

What this means:
All users of Reuters DataLink data will UNABLE to access any of their Data On Demand Reuters DataLink data; therefore they will NOT be able to open any charts using Data On Demand data or download Reuters DataLink data. However, any data that has already been downloaded to a local file, can still be accessed.

When the connection has come back up, all data will be available. No data will be lost or dropped during this outage.

Options:
While the Data On Demand data will not be available, any data that the user has already downloaded will be available. If you need to work on your charts during this outage period, we highly recommend downloading the data that you need before 9:00am EST, January 27, 2007

Vom Hersteller werden im Original nur die Daten von Reuters, eSignal und die QCharts Version vertrieben, jedoch ist es mit Hilfe von Zusatzsoftware möglich, nahezu jeden Datenanbieter in MeaStock einzubinden.

Bei der Wahl des Datenanbietern muss zunächst bei der Art des Datenzugriffs unterschieden werden.

Datenzugriff über DDE

Der Datenprovider stellt die Daten direkt über eine DDE Anbindung zur Verfügung. Der Nachteil dieser Lösung besteht in der Regel darin, dass der Benutzer die Daten Tick per Tick erhält und keine keine historischen Daten zur Verfügung stehen. Dies bedeutet auch, dass der Rechner permanent online sein muss und auch keine nachträglichen Korrekturen (z.B. Bad Ticks) möglich sind. Der Vorteil ist, dass die Kosten für ein Realtime Abonnement entfallen (z.B. Anbindung über Interactive Brokers TWS).
Falls man eine 100% Onlineverfügbarkeit nicht sicherstellen kann, empfiehlt sich ein preisgünstiges verzögertes Abo (z.B. über Lenz & Partner).

Datenzugriff über OnDemand

Der OnDemand Zugrif ermöglicht den direkten Zugriff auf die historischen Daten des Datenproviders, diese Lösung bedingt ein kostenpflichtiges Abo (eSignal, QCharts, FutureSource,..)

Anleger, die historische Daten für Systemtests benötigen, sollten nur Lösungen wählen, in denen vom Datenanbieter auch das OnDemand Protokoll von MetaStock unterstützt wird.

Bei der Wahl des geeigneten Datenproviders sollte man beachten, dass es nicht nur hinsichtlich des Preises sondern auch im Bereich der Qualität und Verfügbarkeit oft zu erheblichen Unterschieden kommen kann. Zudem gilt es zu beachten, dass nicht alle Datenanbieter alle Börsen anbieten.
